Director
Ram is the co-founder and Director of Rang De. He was chosen for the Ashoka Fellowship in 2012 in recognition of Rang De's game-changing efforts to lower the cost of credit. A firm believer in the social business model, he started Rang De in 2008 as a platform to raise contributions for individuals. His conviction that there is a need to lower the cost of microcredit has been instrumental in shaping Rang De's values and beliefs. Prior to starting Rang De, Ram worked as Principal Consultant for Vignette Europe Limited and has consulted for some of the world's best companies.
Chief Financial Advisor
Mr.Rajan has worked for large corporates such as Kirloskar and Thoughtworks as well as with smaller start-ups. He has the experience of working with varied companies and has been able to provide sound financial guidance to all of them. He has a degree in commerce, and law, and is a professional chartered accountant. He is Rang De's Chief Financial Advisor, overseeing the critical functions of finance and compliance.
Mentor
An IIT Madras and IIM-Ahmedabad alumni, Professor P. Sudarshan started his career in the Atomic Energy Commission HQ. He is an incredible man who has been a director of several companies and mentored over 2000 start-ups. In his lifetime he has started a technology consultancy service, kick-started the Venture Capitalist Movement in India as the President and CEO of what is now ICICI Ventures, structured two hugely successful Indian funds, set up several management institutes, taught in India and abroad, and is the founder-director of the Quiz Foundation of India. Rang De could not be prouder to have such an ambitious man, with such an incredible life, as our guide and mentor.
Chief Creative Advisor
His words create magic and his passion for Rang De works wonders. Kamlesh has worked as senior copy writer in India as well as in United Arab Emirates, and serves as Rang De's Chief Creative Advisor. He crafts Rang De's key messaging, helping creatively express the essence and spirit behind our work.
Chief Executive Officer
Smita is the CEO and co-founder of Rang De and also serves on the organisation's board. She has a Master's Degree in Social Work and comes with rich experience of working for non-profits and social initiatives in India as well as the United Kingdom. She believes in the power of civil society to influence and bring about change. She is responsible for fundraising, strengthening Rang De's impact on communities, and enhancing social investor involvement in the organisation. Smita has also completed a Certificate Course for Women Entrepreneurs from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
Vice President - Technology
Swati has a passion for technology. She has worked for well known organizations such as Capgemini and Cognizant. A mechanical engineer from MNNIT Allahabad, Swati took a break from her corporate career and became a full-time mom. Learning new technologies and being in a challenging environment is something that excites Swati. She enjoys being part of the Rang De team as it allows her to use her passion for a great cause.
Chief Product Officer - Technology
Ghansyam sees a great future where technology solves some of the most pressing social problems. As Chief Product Officer, his task is to build a world class fin tech platform that allows underserved entrepreneurs to borrow with dignity, and social investors invest with pride and trust. Prior to Rang De he worked for over two decades in technology positions at Habba, Sharp and IBM. Ghansyam holds a bachelors degree in Electronics and an MBA in Marketing and Finance.
Chief Technical Architect
Sunil has been working in the software industry since the late nineties, in a range of service and product-based companies. His last full-time job was at a non-profit organisation, after which there was no going back to the corporate sector. Today he consults (and codes!) in the non-profit and social-change space. Rang De's mission and values were a natural fit for him, and he enjoys helping us succeed.
Associate Product Manager
Amogh started his career as an engineer at Infosys. He then went on to complete a Masters in Finance, giving himself an opportunity to explore his possibilities to the fullest. His experience of the credit world stretches across banking platforms, from being a typical commercial banker, to working in a social fintech that facilitates credit. His stint at Rang De, has helped him gain insights, not just with the business side of the industry, but with it's potential to reach out, innovate & leverage technology for a greater and nobler purpose of empowering the underserved.
Manager - Impact and Operations
Sonali has a Master's degree in Marketing from Manipal University in Bangalore. Having worked with FunDreamz as a fundraiser, she began her career fulfilling the education requirements of girl students and HIV-infected children. She joined Rang De as her role allows her to impact communities on a wider scale. Born in Meghalaya, Sonali likes to watch movies,TV shows and MMA tournaments, and also enjoys traveling to new places. She comes from a caring family who have adopted three orphans through SOSVillages (Kolkata).
Manager - Empathy
Preethi is an avid foodie who loves to spend time with her friends. She completed her Masters in Social Work from Madras School of Social Work and prior to joining Rang De, was working with Greenpeace. She is passionate about women and children's rights. In her spare time, she loves listening to music and watching Harry Potter & Marvel movies reruns. Preethi enjoys working at Rang De because of the mission we are on, and because of her team, a fun and supporting bunch, who are great to work with.
Senior Manager - Operations
Aseem has completed a Bachelors in Business Administration and is a Six Sigma Green Belt. He is an operations specialist and has more than eight years of experience in Operations Management across Startups, Trusts, and Corporates. At Rang De, he leads the Customer Support Operations and works with the team to build and implement customer-centric lean processes. He is keen on working for Startups and Social Enterprises creating innovative solutions for the communities, and that's why he is glad to be a part of Rang De. He likes to design and hit the gym when he is not working.
Manager - Engagement
Chandni believes in the inherent goodness of all people. She's on a mission to connect people to their own good hearts, to others and to the world, hoping through this to inspire a more compassionate world. She has a Bachelor in Computer Applications from Christ University Bangalore and enjoys conceptualising technology that can inspire human connection. In her time off, she enjoys practising yoga and meditation, reading and staring at the moon.
Product Photographer
Ramya is the photographer at Rang De, and the reason behind the beautiful visuals on our platform. She is an alma mater of CAVA Mysore, and was the topper and gold medalist of her batch. Besides photography, she loves music and painting. She is also very passionate about water conservation, and hopes to do something about this cause in the near future.
