About Desi Trust
Desi Trust has been working tirelessly to provide a decent livelihood to handloom workers. They have been working with communities to provide employment that is ecologically viable in order to dissuade the local communities from migration. The Desi stores across Karnataka display a plethora of beautiful, traditional crafts such as Sarees from Chanderi, Dhurries from Warangal and wooden toys from Channapatna, to name a few. The current pandemic crisis has affected us all in the past few months. Desi has also been grappling with this uncertainty brought about by the pandemic. With a dip in sales and a number of operational expenses to meet, Desi Trust is seeking a credit of Rs 10 lakh. This amount will be used to pay off the workers and help them sustain themselves during this period. This amount will be raised in two tranches to meet Desi's needs. In this first tranche, we raised Rs 5 lakh to help Desi meet their immediate needs. In the second tranche, the funds will be utilized to help them get their operations back to normalcy post the lockdown period. Support Desi today, as they strive to meet the needs of their employees and help them gravitate through these difficult times.
We want to setup a wholesale market for pure handloom and for naturally dyed fabric.
