About Alpana

Alpana Dey is a weaver and the sole breadwinner of her family. She is a hard-working woman and is the first woman from her village to start a small business hand-weaving. Alpana Dey comes from Murshidabad in West Bengal where she has started a small hand-loom unit working for the past several years. She has a big responsibility towards the people around her, as she is the prime source of livelihood for her family members and her children. As the sole breadwinner of her family, she has to work a lot. She is finding the lack of technology, market network, and proper management strategy very difficult to handle. Enable Alpana to invest in the technology that removes the need for physical labor to dye the fiber and weave her products.
